Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. In addition to your password, you’ll use a one-time code sent to your phone or generated by an authentication app to log in. This article explains how to set up 2FA.
Why Enable 2FA?
- Protects your account even if your password is compromised.
- Prevents unauthorized logins from unfamiliar devices or locations.
- Gives you more control over account security.
Steps to Setup 2FA
- Log in to your account.
- Go to Account Settings or Security Settings.
- Select Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
- Choose your preferred method:
- Authenticator App (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy)
- SMS Code (sent to your registered phone number)
- If using an app:
- Scan the QR code displayed on-screen with your authenticator app.
- Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app.
- If using SMS:
- Enter the code sent to your phone number.
- Click Enable or Save to confirm setup.
Troubleshooting
- If codes are not working, make sure your device’s time is synced correctly.
- If you don’t receive SMS messages, confirm that your phone number is up to date.
- Use backup codes if you lose access to your 2FA method.
