This article explains why the swap quote you see in the Swap Engine may change before you confirm a transaction and what you should review before completing a swap.
What a Swap Quote Represents
A swap quote shows the estimated amount you will receive and the applicable fee at the moment you view it. The quote is provided before confirmation so you can review the details of the swap.
The swap is only finalized after you select Confirm Swap.
Why a Swap Quote Can Change
Swap quotes may update between the time you first view them and the moment you confirm. This can happen for several reasons.
Market Price Changes
Digital asset prices can move quickly. If the market price of either asset changes, the swap quote may update to reflect the most current rate.
Loyalty Level and Fees
Your swap fee is based on your Loyalty Level. If your Loyalty Level changes, the fee shown in the quote may also change.
Quote Refresh Before Confirmation
The Swap Engine refreshes quotes to ensure the rate and fee shown are accurate at the time of confirmation. If too much time passes, the original quote may no longer apply.
What to Do Before Confirming
- Review the updated quote: Check the amount you will receive and the fee shown.
- Confirm the assets: Make sure you selected the correct asset to swap from and the correct asset to receive.
- Confirm the amount: Verify the amount entered before completing the swap.
